![]() I asked this because I have doe stands and buck stands. Im like Coondog, if I know a buck is using an area doe's get a free pass from those stands. On morning hunts in early bow season I usually hunt doe stands. I just wouldn't want a doe I shot to run into a bedding area that I know a big buck is using and possibly ruin my chances at him

![]() Well since ya'll already have the bucks figured out why don't you shoot them first?

![]() Well not as much most folks, because the wind shifts so much, I have not been busted to my "knowledge" by scent in years and I hunt 60 days a year, but not say a buck scented and got the hell out of dodge quickly and quietly, but I do kill mature bucks every year, and i don't let wind determine my hunt. Unless I did not shower or have scent free clothes clean clothes before the hunt, or sweat a storm going to stand

![]() Depends on how early in the season. If its opening weekend, I'll shoot a good sized doe if she is alone and gives me a good shot. As October approaches the doe killing itch disappears.

![]() pending the weather and time of day and circumstances.
if its a mature doe with babies that look like they will survive without momma and its not 200 degrees or right before dark then yeah. if its a shooter buck then yeah. mommas with itsy bitsy babies and baby bucks and mature mommas in very bad heat all get passes |
