Default .223 & 5.56

What load of these 2 shells is best for hog killing etc., rather than target shooting ?

Winchester is now advertising a Boar round, in .223 & .308, is is their "fail safe" bullet.

Also check with Black Hills Ammo, they have a .223 in the 70-77- grain range, that has been rated good.
A gun is like a parachute, it you need one and don't have one, you probably won't need it again.
