Default Peyton got a good un

Intended on leaving at 1:30 Friday after he got out of school but the surf was blowing up and momma wasnt home yet so I let him go until Christy got home and we would pick him up. He copped and attitude about the waves being epic and all his friends were going to surf and he HAD to go to Georgia.....A little attitude adjustment later and we are on the road at 2:30.

Of course the weather wasnt exactly the best but we hit the stand around 10 and came in at noon to eat any saw one lone doe. Back in the stand by 2:30 and the rain let up and started seeing deer. Approx 4:15 I saw movement in a lane and see horns so I have him turn and scope the deer. He immediately says "big buck...big buck!" I check it out and noticed it was a good buck, appeared to be wide and looked like it had a decent body. He was shooting Christys 308 so I watched as it would eat, pick its head up, eat and repeat....it finally make its way out into the lane where his chest was exposed and he pulled the trigger. Deer jumped straight up and landed on its back in some water that had risen from all the rain. High fives and first thing he does is call him mom. I look over to a lane to the right and notice a deer. Tell him to hang up and notice its a decent 6 that I would have let him shoot if it wasnt for already shooting this one. Ended up sitting for another 45 minutes while 7 deer fed in the lane without seeing the big 8 I was hoping would show. They meander off and we go down to recover the deer and notice that its rack is sticking up and the closer I got....the bigger it became. Turned out to be a great 9 that weighed 180 lbs and was a great first big buck for him. He had a smile that as of this am was still on his face. Ive added a couple pics and sorry this is so long of a thread.......Not sure why the pics are sideways but maybe one of you smart computer guys can rotate them for me.....
