Good to hear he's enjoying it and playing it smart. I'm trying to be smarter with my joints now. I think carrying a ruck and years of lifting and push-ups have gotten to me a little. My elbows click and shoulders often ache but I'm still doing well. I think warming up and recovery is the only reason.

Good Deal. Hope he continues to enjoy playing and has a 90mph fastball one of these days. I think every baseball player wants to have a good live arm whether they pitch or not.

He'll play regardless of whether or not he's pitching. He's a heck of an infielder and has a good bat. He would play 365 24-7 if it was up to him.

Hope this didn't come across as a Bruz my kid is better take over post....

Some of my fondest memories were playing baseball as a kid. I pitched from ages 9-19 and all thru high school.

Course, my arm is for shit now, but those were great times.

Just make sure he is enjoying himself which I am sure he is, but I see kids getting turned off in their early teens due to playing around the year and quitting before it gets really fun.

Yeah Timmy, most of that is overzealous parents faults. Bunch of fools out there pushing travel ball on their kids, burning them out

That's awesome JB. That's some pretty good heat for that age. I pitched and played 3rd. Spent a lot of time at camps during the summers with college coaches concentrating on mechanics and how to properly care for my arm. I still remember when I threw it out though. It still hurts today some if I throw stuff too much, so I'm glad to hear there is an emphasis being put on that now.

I'm always hesitant to blame parents, cause I have too many friends that I have saw push their kids too much and seen their anger when the kid didn't live up to expectations.

My daughter played some, but just didn't care for any sport. Bad thing is that she has athletic ability, just doesn't want to play. Being the selfish person that I am, I am fine with her not playing, it frees up my time in the fall and spring.

I have a really good friend that is in my opinion is too overbearing with his kids. His daughter may end up with a strong chance at college thru softball pitching, but she is 10 and has pitching lessons twice a week, practice or games on the other days and this goes on all year. She juggles softball and basketball in the fall and still has the lessons. His 7 year old son is following suit.

The way it is now. They gotta pretty much pick 1 sport later. Middle school years. If not they're left behind cause all the kids that play that sport alone play nearly year round. For Mary Beth it's the only thing she plays. Other than cheering football. And so I don't mind her playing bb 10 months of the year. Shes gotten so much better cause a bb is always in her hand and she enjoys it a lot. But no pressure from me . I just love going to watch them play.
