Default Musky

Hit the lake this morning with intentions of targeting one particular species.. MUSKY... We are/were totally clueless with only the knowledge of the internet and some locals... I don't think we did too bad
We had 3 that were every bit of 40"+ follow the bait to the boat and not eat.. one was every bit 50"+... Lost a good one and landed this one.. Seeing those big bastards come up to the boat and chase the lure around and not eat turned us inside out

Nice! They're fun to fish for. I was in the Musky capital of the world last year (Boulder Junction, WI). We fished hard for them one day and never could connect. I was wore out from chunking those big lures all day!

Killing a Muskie would be worse than killing a Jake or keeping a mountain trout

.. I think the people around this place would skin you alive if they saw you kill one

If you google about eating a Musky, this is the first thing that pops up
Quote:
Never eat a Muskie, they take too long to mature and if rumor be true, stocked ones (which nearly all now) are to be sterile. Pike and Pickerel (grass pike) a very close cousin to the muskie are said to be excellent table fare (maybe a bit boney).
