Default Jason's drought ends

He's had a frustrating last two seasons according to him. Missed last year at two separate groups of does within an hour of each other (gun is dead on). Passed a dandy of a buck this year yet didn't meet the club minimum if 6 pt or better. Had 4 on his right side out past his ear and tall! Other side had a 5" spike.
I'd suggest where to go and give him the option every time yet he would pick somewhere he thought would be better. I'd video and show him why he was missing and he wouldn't see squat! Lol. Finally on the last weekend I had peyton in a stand and one yearling and one 1.5 y/o doe step out. He gets his gun ready and a bigger doe steps out behind. He gets ready to take the safety off when they bugger and run off. Fast foreword to the next day out of the same stand I tell him where they will be and to wait for the bigger doe. Like clockwork two step out followed by the bigger doe. He is already lined up and makes a perfect shot and we recover her 40 yds away. Proud he didn't give up and having summer sausage made out of her...... great end to a fun season

Congrats to Jason

And I admire him for having the desire to find his own way in the woods, but finally accepting some help and closing the deal.

Couldn't agree more! Had many a conversation with his mom about "
Why doesn't he just sit in stand "X" because I've seen a few nice bucks and tons of does". She said the same thing..... let him figure it out and she was right. Great kid and smart as a whip and will be headed off to college in the fall. Met his mom when he was 4 and he's really grown to become a great young man. Now his only decision is whether he is going to Florida, FSU or Michigan. My wallet says FSU or UF Any by the way no orange because this was taken behind my camper

Awesome! Sounds like he just wanted to make it happen totally on his own. I'm still like that today. If someone tells me to hunt so and so stand I still have to take my climber in or my Lone wolf and climb a tree that I pick out. LoL
