Everything was good except for the flex tubing that connects Polaris to the water line. First thing my son says is he didn't do it. You know what that means. LoL

I like my salt pool. I never close mine. I turn the chlorinator off when water temp hits 55. I fill up floater with chlorine tablets as needed in off season. I set my timer for it to run 4hrs a day.

When it's time to open, I turn chlorinator on to 40%, dump 30lbs of bicarb in it, then add 10lbs of cyanuric acid into skimmer with basket removed and pump basket removed. Let it run for 24hrs.

Set timer to run for 8hrs, check ph, and add muriatic acid when needed to drop ph down to 7-7.5.

Sounds like you got it figured out. I have to close mine up because of 2 big oak trees in the backyard that dump a ton of leaves in the fall

I have more than two trees dumping leaves. Get your ass out there and keep the skimmers clean and scoop the leaves.

Just go out and clean the skimmer every other day and dip out the leaves. Throw the leaves in a big 40 gallon bag so they don't blow back in the pool if you decide to dump them over the fence.

Believe me, you'll like keeping it "open" year round. It sure as hell beats removing a cover and opening one that way... I use to do that crap when I was a teenager for my parents pool....
