Talking Plastic sure aint purty

but since I can't get a woodstock right now..I can at least change the color
Took some Krylon I had left and did the stock on my 6.5 Sporter I picked up a few weeks ago...Man what a difference. I did forget to take off the recoil pad, but I'm getting a different one for it anyways, so I'm not worried bout it.
Anyways, here it is..

All I need is the new recoil pad and scope and she'll be ready to go!

Looks good Nic......

I've been thinking about doing up the stock on my ADL... Just haven't come up with a pattern yet. Been thinking about a whole new stock altogether actually..

If you want to have the solidified nature of synthetics with a wood look, have it dipped...

They have several wood look dips you can go with...

the speckling is on purpose....I did a tan solid coat, stood about 3-4ft away and tried to get the speckled effect with the dark green but the wind decided to kick up and there's a few splotches :bang:

thanks for the site D! I'll keep that bookmarked...funny, I was thinkin last night if there was some sorta dip to give the wood look. Thanks!


Oh, Delton, I am thinkin bout a whole new stock as well..but I think I'll save that for when I can build a rifle from the action up...so we'll see

Here's my "Custom Build" I will get started on in about a week...

Donor Gun: Remington LA ADL
Caliber Choice: 30-06
Barrel Make: Lilja
Barrel Material: SS
Barrel Profile: #3 Contour
Barrel Length: 24”
Flutes: Straight Flutes on the barrel, Spiral Flutes on the bolt – to be cut at smith’s discretion
Barrel Crown: Deep Floor Board Cut
Rate of Twist: 1 in 10”
Metal Finish: Cerakote – Action, Barrel, Bolt Handle (Cerakote; Armor Black)
Rifle Barrel Flutes, Bolt Flutes (Cerakote; Stainless)
Stock: McMillan (Rem. Classic using “Edge Technology” (Brown Stock) –keep the stock ADL style; hidden magazine no floor plate. Length of pull-13 3/4” fully finished (take into account recoil pad).
Trigger: Factory trigger tuned to 2 lbs set with as little creep and as little overtravel as possible
Other Gunsmithing: Truing the bolt lugs and bolt face, single point truing of the receiver threads, and truing the receiver lugs
Stainless Steel Pillars bedding job
Coat complete rifle, including receiver, bolt in two color (Cerakote)
Hunter Bolt Knob; plain
Engraving – Copper Plate Light Font (Allow Stainless to Shine Through OR coat in Cerakote Stainless); on one side to say; medium sized
[Thirty ‘Aught Six.] on the other, in Lucida Calligraphy to say; medium sized – [One Shot - One Kill]
Custom Recoil Lug, double pinned
Williams Steel Trigger Guard – Cerakote Armor Black
Rifle to be balanced well with discretion being given to this gun will be shot mostly “Off hand” without rest in hunting situations
Sling Swivel Studs placed in stock in appropriate areas; NOT to be dipped with stock at Tarjac – use stainless swivel studs if possible.
Stock To Be Sent To Tarjac For Dipping In Frederick Walnut (HIGH GLOSS) – www.tarjac.com
Install 1” decelerator pad (pad not to be dipped)
