Default Akorn

Just picked up a large Akorn on clearance at Home Depot for $169.99 (brag).
Do BGE accessories fit in? Mainly looking at a place setter for indirect cooking. Thanks!

No. BGE is different. You can get the plate setter on amazon.

If you want a heat diffuser but don't want to spring for the smoking stone you can get a charcoal grate made for the Weber 22.5 grill and a 15" x 2" aluminum cake pan. The grate will fit perfectly on the tabs in the Akorn made for the smoking stone. The pan fits on the grate and there is plenty of room for the smoke to get around it. Fill the pan half way up with play sand and cover the pan with foil pressing the foil down against the sand. Makes clean up a breeze. Just toss and replace the foil each cook. Always cover the sand with foil. Sand will pop and stick to the meat otherwise. If you want to cook high heat, just remove the pan.
