Default Goose : Its whats for dinner

OK, despite all of the warnings, we put together a little something with the goose meat from sunday morning.

it was a him vs. her battle with the man team going the traditional wet marinade, and i went with a spicy dry rub. I of course used a fork and stabbed my pieces to death, hoping to make them a bit more tender (yeah right).

a slice of bacon on some of 'em and we were ready to grill...

at this point, i was thinking it might actually be ok...mine smelled a lot better than i thought.... or maybe that was just the bacon

pulled 'em of the grill, and left them a little bit "undone." tasted a lot better steaming hot than when they cooled down.... and MINE definitely won the competition. sometimes less is a good thing.

put it together with some white rice (and lots of butter! ) and my whole green beans with butter and cheese sauce, and we were ready to go.

needless to say, i ate a lot of rice and beans but the dogs sure enjoyed the left overs.... or maybe just the bacon

enjoy!

You should have listened to my suggestions. BTW, goose, ducks and dove should never be cooked more that medium (or medium rare for the brave).

Also, the term "dry rub" does not sound all that appealing coming from you.

Next time try what I said and you won't be disappointed. You can slice the breasts really thin and pour gravy over them and it is good as well. Or just throw them in a ditch and be done with the whole thing.

yeah, after we fed some of it to the dogs, we went up to put them in their pen and they had dug out the geese bodies from the woods... i guess they were looking for more ... yuck
