Default North Alabama Turkey hunting

My dad and I usually hunt Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky as sort of a father/son hunting trip. I don't think we will get drawn for that hunt this year, so I was thinking about hunting somewhere in North Alabama.

Are there any places you could point us to in North Alabama to hunt? My dad is getting older, and I'm trying to keep our turkey hunting trip tradition up a long as I can.

I can't help you with the Alabama part but me and some friends were thinking about coming up to Kentucky this year and hunting public land for 3 or 4 days. Just to get away and see some new country. We haven't settled on a spot yet.

Peabody WMA holds a lot of birds. And you can hunt Land Between the Lakes after the quota hunts are over.

LB Davidson WMA is a tiny WMA close to Peabody that few people hunt, but I have heard 7-8 birds at once sounding off from the parking area.

I have never hunted Green River state forest, but I've heard good things about turkey hunting there.

We were thinking of LBTL as an option

I'll be hunting Land Between the Lakes for a quick 2 day hunt that first week of season more than likely.
