Default Good Deeds......

So yesterday morning I took an old man hunting on my farm.........he has never killed a deer and I put him in a good spot.....he saw nothing.

Mind you I had to get up early....pick him up........walk him to the stand and then go to mine........so yesterday I was tired and didn't really wanna hunt...........it was hot and humid...........but I knew the rut was going on!

I asked Bailey if she wanted to go and she said so........she was tired........so I planned on hunting the cutover where I've seen 3 does and 5 little bucks the night before....the old man called me and wanted me to take him again....

So, I leave early because the stand I had to take him to was way out of my way...........well at the last minute I decided to hunt a double box stand that was close to the old man.........again I was tired.

Got in the stand at 530 and was sweating!! Skeeters were bad and there was no sign around this stand........30 minutes later a doe steps out.......she looked a bit nervous and I thought maybe she caught me moving........I did not plan on seeing any deer this early........I just walked through the area she came out......

I put my head net on and grabbed the binocs........she was gone.......a few seconds later she comes back........looking in front of her...........she runs off across the road......another second later I see another deer..........he looks up at me and BOOM! I did get a little nervous with this shot.........but it was true and he dropped in in his tracks.........nerves..........adrenaline and shaking all started as I was walking to the deer...........if I ever lose that feeling I'll have to quit.

If not for the old man I would have never hunted that stand last night.......one of the biggest I've killed.

The old man saw a cow horn spike......but could not get a shot...

The same stand I was in yesterday was the same one I put the old man in last year........

Buckyt's boy killed his doe this year out of this stand too!

Thanks.......

At first I didn't want to take him cause I was flat out tired from hunting all week and weekend.......but I decided it would be fine and he hardly gets to hunt....

worked out great......I gave the old man the backstraps and loins.......he was leaving today and didn't have any meat.

Tom, you are without a doubt the most selfless hunter I know and that buck is a great reward for your generosity. Proud to call you a friend.
