Default Latest hunt

Jason got back from UF and he, Peyton and I headed up to camp.
Settled around the fire for a drink and off to bed we went hoping for four good days of hunting. Hunted from sun up till 11 every day, back for lunch and in the stands from 3 till dark. Never saw a damn deer other than driving out on the sides of the road. Creekbottoms, fields, hardwoods, pines and clear cut.... nadda!
One bright spot was other than spending time with the boys was Peyton shot his first hog. Been on the property 15 years and last year a member killed a 305 lb sow in January and that was the first hog ever to come off our land. This year? Loaded with them damn things. Anyhow he aimed for the shoulder and put it straight through both ears dropping her in her tracks. 160 lb sow....... tried to teach him skinning and the butcher asked if I used a machete lol! Great four days!

Well atleast y'all got some pork! Only thing I can figure is this warm spell has the deer moving mostly at night. The front coming after Christmas should have them moving again. Going to give it a go next week. Have not been since the 27 th. After losing my 2 nd buck it zapped my drive to hunt
