Default Job Interviews

Maybe I've just been sheltered from it in previous roles, but what's up with people setting up job interviews only to not show up and/or not answer the phone? In the last 6 months, I have posted 3 professional level jobs with about 20 applicants setting up interviews (phone and in person). Of those 20, only about 5 actually showed up...

I drove all the way over to Tifton today for a 3:00 interview and the guy cancelled last minute with a "family emergency." There's a lot of "family emergencies" in this town I guess.

Because people want to be paid and not have to bother in actually getting a job.

Hire a recruiter and they will send you some top prospects and weed out the tire kickers. I have a buddy who has been a recruiter for high end IT jobs for years

Maybe a family member fell off the tractor and rolled over by the tire.

Or maybe his supplier got a new shipment of drugs and he couldn't pass up getting his.

What's these jobs pay that no one seems to want. I'm never late for anything and never missed an interview in my life! Exactly

Been dealing with the same shit for years. I schedule interviews with people and try to come in earlier than my normal start time which is 10pm and they never show. These are not for professional positions but that shouldn't matter. I feel your pain.

For Tifton, GA it's pretty good pay...beats all I've ever seen.

What positions are you hiring for Steven?

I'll send my cousin BigBank Barfield to work for you. Oh, almost forgot to ask. Would he need to be at work before say 1 or 2PM and would you expect him to work a full day?

BigBank Incorporated is located in Enigma, GA. If he can't work for you, he can at least blast this out on his podcast and let all his Bankaholics know about the jobs and to be professional when interviewing.

Right now I'm trying to hire a supply chain manager. I had the same issues trying to hire a controller a few months back.

And if you think I'm kidding... Ask some locals about Big bank Barfield next time you are in Tifton.

Chad Barfield is his name and he is in fact my cousin. Always wanted to be a Wrassler so years ago he went to the Funking Conservatory and got trained by Dory Funk Jr. Did the Indie scene for years.

His Dad owned Arnett's Mill back in the day.

That's standard protocol.

As an update, we finally had someone show up for an interview and are extending an offer.
