Stay after them, Gordy. Sounds like you are in the right area.

10-15 PM seen 3 slickheads and 3 gobblers at 20 yards, stuck a button. 1st slick winded me, 2nd
cruised toward the water oak patch and the button walked straight towards me and bedded down at 30 yards, facing me. temptation got to me after 20+ minutes, went 40 yards.

10-18 PM saw 2 does and 3 fawns

10-20 AM 2 does and a fawn out of range. Moved the stand this morning and they were where it was an hour prior

Hunting is about to slow down for me, coworker in my position broke his leg last night at home. Lots of OT covering for him coming up.

11-1 2 deer and 7 turkeys. Nothing like educating deer.......hunting on the ground and see her about 100 yards, crept up to 60. She comes in to about 35 yards then veers away. Watched her for close to an hour and then heads right to me. Missed at 15 yards lol, had all the pins lined up on her frontal. Soon as I got to full draw she stops and stares. Had the 20 pin high up on her but still shoulda nailed her

10-31 3 slicks, 9 turkeys

11-1 PM 6Pt moving too fast about 40 yards away

11-2 PM, back at the water oak patch, 3 does came by at 35 yards. At the edge of the patch is an older water oak, branches are broken and short but either taste better or still produce more cause they always stay around longer there. 2 come back and get at 30 to my right and as i'm watching them, the 3rd appears at 20 in front of me. Senses me and is on alert, the other take notice and head to leave the area. The 2 on the right cross in front of me. As the 3rd one gets to 25 yards and behind some foliage I draw and get busted, she gets out to 35 quick and turns and stares. Rushed the shot

Youth season opens this morn and ML starts on Monday. Hope to shed some more blood soon

So far it's been a good year. Wife shot her first one the 2nd day of ML, saw 8 the first hour that morn. She was anxious and wanted to go look but we waited the 30 minutes and still had deer come by, got busted trying to get the primer in . Trailed blood for 700 yards and never recovered it. Day before Thanksgiving got a 9pt, he was with 3 other bucks. A pic included is 20+ minutes after I dropped him. Few days ago got an 8 just after legal hunting light. Hunted 2 WMAs inside Bienville NF north of here the past weekend. Around Montrose (tallahallah WMA)Lots of chasing going on and shots going off like I've never heard, place was crowded. Caney creek WMA outside Raleigh saw some does but no bucks. Hardly anyone hunting in that area and few shots. Shot a yote behind the house Wednesday and keep seeing this nice looking fox squirrel I may go after soon. Still got one more buck tag and the ruts at least a week away. Only been seeing does lately and my work schedule doesn't look good for hunting much.
