![]() I did last year. It worked out pretty good. I cut a hole in the bottom and added a piece of 1/2 inch OSB for strength. I then put a piece of hardware cloth in the bottom with a slit for the plant to grow out of. The hardware cloth flexes enough to allow for the stem of the plant to grow. In the top of the bucket, my wife planted pansies.lol
So we had maters on the bottom and flowers on the top.

![]() I've been doing it for a couple years. Works very well. I try to stay with a smaller fruited variety to keep branch stress down. Also, they will dry out quick so you will need to keep a watch on them almost every day during the summer.
