Default Got rid of my cable service

The cable company kept raising their rates so a couple of months ago I got rid of cable service and only have high speed internet now. I bought a hd antenna for local tv and bought a Firestick. I downloaded the Mobdro app on the Firestick. Wish I would have done it a long time ago because I sure don't miss cable tv anymore. The Mobdro app isn't the best quality but I can still get ESPN and other channels that were on cable tv. Has anyone else got rid of cable or satellite tv recently?

We didn't have a tv at all for several years. Then the wife demanded one after we had kids. I got a big flat screen and a Roku. That worked great with Netflix and amazon prime. I don't know about regular tv stations because I have not watched one on purpose in over a decade.

The tv died a couple of weeks ago. I have no intention of replacing it. The kids have been reading more books and playing outside more. New board games and puzzles actually get them excited and talking whereas tv just made them zone out. I'll keep an eye out for a painting to put where the tv was.

Direct Tv keeps edging up.........might threaten to get rid of them and get a discount.

Heck, I haven't had cable in almost 20 years. I don't think I can get cable where I live.

Don't watch much TV.....but I do like a few shows on History Chan, Nat Geo, and Discovery.

I ditched Directv over a year ago and had no regrets whatsoever. I had Sling TV which gave me the local Fox 5 news and a host of other channels and a jailbroke Firestick. I have a roommate though and he pays for satellite in his name.

I only watch The Walking Dead and Live PD anyway. I could easily do without a tv.

Doesn't the satellite companies off some kind of internet? I wouldn't know because I've never needed satellite tv.

The only Satellite internet around here is Hughesnet and it's pretty expensive. So far the Mi-Fi is pretty fast but I can see burning up 15gigs in about 20 days so we'll see how slow it goes after that

I'm still with Dish. I'm calling my internet provider Charter Spectrum tomorrow after I noticed they just went up on my bill another $6 a month which makes $12 just this year alone. Total BS
