Yup. I may give it a go this week. Next sat I may try to go to watch the points run their dogs after the ball game at 11. Holler at me and we will try it out

I went yesterday simply because it was the only day I could hunt this week....

No gobbles heard... Wet and windy... Called it quits at noon...

Etter said they gobbled their fool heads off this am in pickens county.

He rolled his 2nd gobbler this past Friday.

Rolled? Sure he didn't "clip" or "wing" it?

The turkeys on our farm were here for about 3 days then vanished. I heard one gobble behind the house last Tuesday and nothing since. We need some warm weather

Still screwy down here. Had another one in range sunday and was waiting to get a clear shot only to have a hen pull him away. They are starting to breed.

The last two mornings have been perfect weather wise up here. I wish I could have been in the woods.

No kidding...

Seems 95% of my hunting this year has been on sub par days...

I was there yesterday. No where near the number of gobbles as the previous Sunday. But I did hear one ripping it up and went after him. He landed me on a section of dirt I was unfamiliar with as I had to move almost 750 yards to him in a direction I have not had to go yet. He was coming once I got close, so it sounded. But once he moved left, then right then back left I knew something was wrong. I let him settle down and crawled around to check and see...I hadn't realized what looked like an old drain feeding into the main river bottom was actually a substantial creek. I circled and tried to reset on his side, after 15 minutes of sitting there a deer walked all over me and blew 30 times then naturally bolted right where he was...never heard another peep. Only heard two birds gobbling, and none from the original point. Not a peep after 8.

I have not struck a bird mid-late morning but one day all season.
