I predict they win 6 of their first 9 games. After the week 10 bye, they have a grueling run to the end with Carolina twice in the last 4 weeks. Those 2 games will dictate who wins the NFC South. They will need the 9th and 10th win in the final two games...Carolina and then New Orleans. If everyone stays healthy and the defense gels...and we have an o-line that has been together most of the season, 10 games is possible. This team, if no one significant is broken, should be better in the second half of the season.

This offense is good, and should be better with a running game and a TE who can catch. If the defense just gets into the middle of the pack stat wise, they are right in there in the playoffs. Not saying a deep run into the playoffs, but back in them.

Hardy has been very good so far. I don't care about him, or Tamme. Both are upgrades at their positions and our receiving core was good with Harry D.

1st pre-season game is tonight. I want to see the 1s do two things. The O-line we need to see them push Tennessee back off the snap on running plays. We don't have our #1 and #2 backs tonight, but if Tone can be 1 yard down field when he hits the holes, we will be on the right track. It will also be interesting to see if the burner can hit any home runs. We get both of those things, Coleman will be a stud this year.

Second I want to see the defense flying around and smacking people. Physical slamming defense even after catches is what we want to see. Hard hitting and swarming...everything will be different from a year ago and we will know things are moving forward.

I want to see Beasley at full speed. The D-Line has to do their job so we can see him work. If he gets double teamed and there is still zero pass rush, we are in trouble. It will be interesting to then see if a pass rush can come from any other players across the front.

Watch the other DBs besides Trufant. This defense will be running mostly 1 on 1 on the outside, we know Trufant is great...but who else can do it? And pay attention to who and how the safeties cover and range in the deep part of the field. Physical one-on-one battles with receivers for the deep ball and tight coverage right off the line. If they can keep tight, bump and run on the outside and get receivers off their routes and timing with the Rookie Marriota, Beasley and the LB core should be able to generate pressure. A lot to watch tonight.

Keep in mind this is the first game speed play in a new defense and with a few new team mates. It could be ugly but still be on the right track.

Side note...NE kept Rodgers and the Packers #1s out of the end zone on 2 drives last night. Very impressive 1st quarter of D. Aaron Rodgers was pizzzzed!! LOL

Other than the fact they couldn't run the ball...TEs couldn't go down field and get into it because they had to stay and help. D was fast and tackled well compared to the past years. Keep in mind that was a rookie QB...but the DBs on the outside held their one on one. O-Line if they can't get a push and open holes is going to be the achiles again. I'm worried. Matt and Julio need that run game.

Ryan had plenty of time to pass in the pocket. I was happy with that!

He won't when a team starts scheming. If you are one dimentional with a piece work O-Line...your boys are going to be in trouble and TE again will be an irrelevant pass catching position.

I think the line will be better than last year, offense looks a lot different than smiths. I think Ryan will have more options with the 2 slot receivers. If he starts getting a lot of pressure he will dump a few off to Yates or hardy. Those guys are quick and will give the DE and LB the fits. We will just have to see. To be honest it's the Defense I am more concerned with. We seem to be a little lite in the drawers still to me. I kinda like the cowboys DL. Let's watch another game or two. B says we're in

Not worried about the D. We have a set it and forget it corner and a safety who can play. The new line backers are upgrades and we actually have some pass rush now. Remember, this team is built around the offense. It still throws up points regardless how bad the defense has been in the past. That nucleus is the same and perhaps even upgraded at the skill positions. If the D can just get into the top 20 stat wise...this team is back and in a year can make a real run at things.

The 2015 Falcons will not be playing for a Super Bowl.
