Default Well that didn't take long...

New boat... another Gheenoe project.

Long story short... Dawson and I went to a Gheenoe Kid's Rally last year. He befriended a little kid with special needs while we were there named Sam. The Gheens donated a 13' Highsider to be given away at the rally. Dawson missed winning the boat by 1 number and was devastated. His friend Sam won.

Fast forward to last month and I get a call from Sam's dad. He's repping a new boat company now and has sold off all of his Gheenoe related items. Sam's disability will prevent him from ever using the Gheenoe and when asked, he wanted to give it to Dawson. We made the ride over to Ft. Pierce on Saturday and picked up Dawson's Gheenoe.

Plans for this boat will be front/rear decks, false floor, and a 15hp 2 stroke. Pretty simple but should make for a slick creek boat. Had a "free" PWC trailer sitting at the house from my FIL's old Solo Skiff. Need to get the tongue lengthened some and it should work well.

This is my 4th Gheenoe. I really like the little boats. Had my LT-25 been laid out a little differently, I probably would have kept it. I've wanted a 13' for a while because it has a wider transom than a 15'4" highsider and is a little more stable. I should be able to dump this one in some pretty skinny water.

I've talked to a guy in FL that will likely do the rebuild for me. I just don't have time and he does pretty good glass work.

They are great boats. I’ve got my Dads and it’s 35+ years old I think?
