Default Spypoint Cell Link

I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, but I ran across these online a while back and saw them in Academy today so I picked one up to try. $59 to turn any non-cellular camera into a cell cam. I had terrible results with the Link Micro that I bought last year, but hoping this will work as advertised. I'll report back on how it does.

I have two of them. I have 0 complaints and think they’re well worth the money. I just can’t feasibly run a bunch of $300+ cams.

I do have several non-cell cams that I’m testing this on. First up will be a ~$100 Stealth Cam. It doesn’t require a cell plan either, only access to the app based on the # of pictures you want.

OK, so I've had this thing about a week now and have tested it in my yard and in the woods. Thought I'd share some initial first impressions of it.

First, the ribbon cord that connects the cam to the wireless unit is EXTREMELY finnicky. Depending on how you close the access door on the trail cam, it may pull out slightly and this will prevent the communication between the units.

Second, it may just be the cam that I'm testing but the pics seem to be of lesser quality and the trigger seems to be a little slower than normal.

Third, the app is a pain in the ass. It is very slow to send pics compared to my Spartan. It always signs me out of the app and overall it's just not very user friendly.

I was optimistic about the technology but Spypoint has let me down again unfortunately. I'll probably end up giving it away if it continues like this...

Have any of you used the Moultrie X 6000? The price looks good but I assume the cheaper cams have a higher monthly cell fee.

I’m not that serious about hunting but a couple of cell cams could make it much easier.
