Nice. I'm hoping to have my car back this week. With the baby coming in about a month, I needed some help getting some projects wrapped up so I've had a local mechanic working on it. Initial scope was to replace the headers and do the trans swap. Anytime you work on a 50+ year old car though it can turn into a lot more so we've had quite a bit of frustrations and surprises. And we're double the original budget...

No kidding... seems every bolt or screw I remove i'm finding a lot of other things that need to be addressed.. a simple headlight swap turns out to be a complete grill & bumper mounts rebuild and having a few bolts that I need to cut out

Let's see...

The first set of headers I bought wouldn't fit. Returned and went with mid-lengths instead of long tubes.

New headers still made contact because the '65 Mustangs had a narrower engine bay because of the strut towers. Only fix is adjustable motor mounts ($300).

Went to put the new motor mounts in and the old ones literally fell apart, so it was needed.

Finally got headers in and trans in, but now the driveshaft needs to be cut because the motor moved back 1/2". Also to get the new clutch pedal assembly in, the entire steering column, steering wheel, wiring, etc has to be removed.

My mechanic will have 30 hours in it before it's over.

Got the Retro-Electro electric headlight door kit finally done. Wasn't all that bad doing just the kit but, cleaning up all the old wiring, splicing in the new and having to cut out several old bolts and redoing all the bumper mounts.. Turned out to be a pretty big project. Still have a;ll the grill and headlight moldings to install and get lined up but so glad everything worked when I pulled the switch.

And I had to take a break from the Camaro to have a new drive "tailgated"... About $500 worth of #4 limestone
