![]() Guess I should have sold my truck last year. Now I'm pretty sure my bearings have gone bad in rear end of my 97F150. Making a loud ratting sound and whining noise. Getting worse. My mechanic says depending on what he finds it could cost up to 1300. I think labor would be like 750. That sound about right?

![]() Find out what gear ratio it is and start an Internet search for a rear end at a salvage yard. Unless it's just an axle or pinion bearing and seal, it's not worth rebuilding one. If you trust your mechanic to tell you the truth about what is wrong, he can diagnose it. It's all around better for find another one to replace it with, generally gonna be cheaper too. If you really want to save a little money, get up the gumption to swap it out once you pick it up. Not hard at all. Get Harvard to help you. Give him some real world education.

![]() I'd rather have a sister in the whorehouse than a dodge in the driveway. As a general rule, they've been junk for longer than I've been alive.

![]() I ain't never been much of no Dadge fan but Flattop Mike has a new Ram 4x4 and it is bad ass. Diesel, powerful and gets about 29 mpg rolling down the highway.
You got lucky on the Durango, those are notoriously junk ![]()

![]() Owning a Dodge is similar to having a non reflective wife.
No matter how good it looks, no matter how much you love it, deep down you are ashamed. |

![]() If the truck will just be for hunting, a Toyota would be a good option. I'm considering a Tundra for my next truck if I don't get some kind of SUV and keep the duramax.
