Default Pizza on the Akorn

Got some Publix pizza dough and cooked a pizza on my Akorn today. Lots of meats, mushrooms and cheese!

That looks great minus the mushrooms. Pizza is something that I have not mastered on the Egg. Only tried it a couple times, but can't get mine right without burning or scorching the crust.

I see you put some kind of parchment paper down, might try that idea.

Looks good. Been a while since I've done pizza on the egg. We've got too many good pizza joints within walking distance to mess with cooking one.

Mine got a tad toasty and I also realized I need to roll the dough really thin. I used the wax paper to slide it off the stone onto a pan. I also put a little cornmeal between the dough and wax paper so the dough wouldn't stick. Not sure if that is needed or not but it seemed to help.

I always used cornmeal for the same reason. I thought it gave the crust a little bit better flavor too.

600* for about 7 minutes. I rotated the pizza a couple times to make sure it cooked even. Watch the bottom of the crust to make sure you don't scorch.

Pepperoni, cheddar, bacon and pineapple on the A-corn. We made cheese bread with some cut off dough and it was good too.
