I have a Yamaha and that belt drive SUCKS. Other than that it runs like a charm. I've taken mine in some DEEP water before it sucked mud and water all down the belt housing. Most of them boys snorkle the belt drives. The next ATV I buy will not be belt driven.

The older model polaris belt snorkels were too low. If the machine wasn't level you could get some water in it, but the newer models snorkel goes all the way up the the gas cap. As long as the gas cap is out of water its fine. You can even run it deeper for a short time, like a quick dunk. I have never had belt problems with my polaris's (I'm on my third one). As long as low range is used for 10mph, and under they will last a long time.

The new 08 polaris is supposed to have a new stronger belt that never needs replacing? I guess I will see...

Your right Will Honda's are great, but they don't make a side by side and no side by side compares to the Ranger
