Thursday morning I decided to hike out a mile out into the marsh to hunt the magic tree. A beautiful morning, 51 degrees and clear. All week long I have only heard one bugle, but on Thursday morning it was like someone turned on a switch. The stags where bugling, groaning and growling all morning long. I was glassing an open marsh 300 yd in front of me (bald eagle area - off limits to hunting) watching 15 - 20 sika deer including three very large stags when I hear a deer walking through the frag grass I put the bino's down and out steps a giant stag. The trail he is walking on will take him right under my stand, when he was at 19yd he paused quartering to me (not the ideal shot) giving me the only shot I was going to get so I let the arrow fly. A short 30 yard run and I watched him go down He is the biggest sika stag I ever shot.

Glad I fixed the deer cart

I finally shot a whitetail It's been a weird season so far, I can kill plenty of Sika deer but it's been tough pickings for whitetail's
(life is tough )

Just checked cams. Killing a doe in the eve would be pretty easy based on pics but I only have 1 decent buck on cam since the 11th. Not real encouraging. No new buck sign that I could find

Hunted privet stand this eve. Saw 3 does and had a deer standing next to my truck when I get there. Should have just hunted in back of the truck.LoL
