I've duck hunted maybe twice a year for the last few years. It's just funny to me the comments that a couple of these boys make like they've been duck hunting all their lives. Hell, one of them has literally killed 3 ducks TOTAL but doesn't want to hunt rice fields because that's not real duck hunting like "calling them through the timber." They're fun guys to hang out with...just morons.
Those fools want "real" duck hunting, take them out to some public timber and see how they like fighting the crowds, birds flaring at gunshots a half mile away, and territorial locals. Rice is nice because it delivers a variety and usually decent numbers. Typically, private timber will cost more and kill mostly mallards. For a bunch of first timers, I'd say stick with rice they will see more birds in the first 10 minutes of hunting than they probably have their whole lives. Snow goose hunts are pretty fun too and most times cheaper.

not really just for ducks, but do you have any contact with who leases the ol Hollonville place? I'd like to deer hunt the Line creek side again.
