Question Ruger American

Im really loving this little jewel from Ruger. For the price, I dont see how it can be beat. They seem to get awesome reviews too. Ive seen the rifle as little as 329.00

Thinking about going ahead and getting me one in 7-08 and topping it with a VXII Leupold or Vortex Diamondback scope. From what I can tell, I would have a damn nice little setup for way less than a grand.

Hell go for it. Don't need a $1500 rifle to kill deers.

Great guns.

Farr has one....or at least Dillan has one, and they love it.

I do remember Mr Farr telling me about this particular gun now that you mention it and how it was a good one

I'm a big Ruger fan anyway. I like the looks of it. May see how much to upgrade to the all weather stainless model

Thats what I had that got stolen. It was a Rem Model Seven though.

I got to liking that round about 10 years ago. I could go with anything because I don't have 7mm ammo anymore though. If not a 7mm-08, then likely .308

I like em! Dillan has a compact model in 7mm 08 and I have one in 270. I topped Dillans with a Redfield revolution (made by Leupold) and I have a Minox ordered for mine. I handloaded Nosler partitions for Dillans and it shoots a 5/8 group at 100 yards. Awesome rifles for the price!

Gimp my buddy is a pretty well known custom rifle builder and in designing his own action he went out and bought or borrowed about every production rifle currently made. He told me the Ruger American is one of the best built rifles being produced even when compared to several that are more expensive. He said if he was going to buy a cheaper factory rifle that Ruger would be the one to get. I've never shot one but trust his judgement on such matters.
