Default Neatest squirrel hunt ever

Got to go out with my pal and his Redtail katniss on a tree rat hunt this afternoon and it was by far one of the kewlest hunts I've been on. She was able to get on several and watching her nail them little bastages was intense! This might be something I could get into in the future.

That's cool. A buddy of mine has a couple of hawks and said he'd take me. I need to do that and watch them kill a skwerl.

It was not at all how I thought it would be. I figured we'd just let her out and watch her do her thing. Wrong. It very similar to rabbit hunting exept we were the dogs. Our job was to walk around and shake trees and see if we could get up a squirrel. There was a few times that she saw squirrels that we didnt know we're there. There was one that was trying to get away from her and when it jumped trees it missed and fell about 30 feet to the ground. She got after it when it hit the ground but still managed to get away. It was by far one of the coolest things I've seen. I asked my pal if she'd kill ducks and he said squirrels and rabbits were more a red tail thing. He's got a pal that has some falcons that kill ducks. He told me if I could find a open pond with ducks on it we'd get his pal with his falcon and go after duck birds. Id like to see that!

That's awesome!

I watched a redtail kill a squirrel on a bowhunt. It flew in and perched on a limb. Ten minutes later a squirrel got on the ground and made its way under the redtail. It dropped down right on top of the squirrel.

One thing I noticed about my pals redtail was that her eyes were dead like a shark or gator. No soul, no friendliness or anything. They are just little killing machines. Apparently their talons have more force than a dog's jaws. Even the little falcon could puncture the gloves. We didn't "hold" the red tail because apparently she's a meanie.
