Default Lease Prices?

What are you guys paying per acre right now? I found a decent looking piece of property about 30 minutes from the house, but it works out to about $22/acre once you include insurance. It's been a while since I looked at lease prices but that seems sort of steep to me... IIRC $10/acre was sort of the standard...

That insurance rate is CRAZY! We pay about $400 a year insurance for almost 2000 ac!

I pay $5 per ac. to $11 per ac.........one lease just went up this year to $11.

The lease is $2400 for 120 acres. $240 for insurance.

I think I'm going to pass on this one. The land looks decent but I can get twice the acreage in timber land for the price of this one.

Too much......IMO.......1500-1700 would be a decent price.

I pay 12 an acre in Baldwin for 186 acres. Insurance runs me another 165 or so a year. Our place just got cut. A combination of clearcut, 1st thinning on 50 acres and select cut on 60 or so. Looks like a bomb went off. Not a acorn producing hardwood left on THE PLACE. Course there were only 3 water oaks before they cut. If our lease goes up I may have to let it go

I saw tons of clear cutting going on in middle GA the last time we were there, and it looked like a lot of the land was going back to either AG or pasture land. A lot of the clearcuts had the stumps pulled and pushed up.

If they come in and plant your property and clear it to the dirt, you need to get in there and look for some arrowheads and if you find any, let me know and I'll come look it and you can send me the ones that you find
