Good Luck! I'm going to let the rain pass and head in about 2pm. I passed a one horned buck this eve. Bet he weighed 200 lbs. if I wasn't trying to kill the 10 pt again I'd have shot him LoL

I'm planning to check my oldest out of school after lunch Fri and then head 4 hours south. Doubt he will sit very long but we might get lucky on a nanny or a buck deer. Big plans to burn up some 22 and 223 on the range.

I'm hoping for a solo killing trip after Thanksgiving. I've got to find a local place to hunt for next season too.

We hunted but no deers. Finally saw 3 does this morning and a really good buck came through at Mach 2. Got a look but no shot, I was hoping a bigger one was chasing but it was just dogs. My son had trouble staying quiet the first hunt and we sat on a peanut field yesterday morning but wind was howling.

The shooting came together though. He still has trouble maneuvering the rifle to find the target but I got him on man size silhouette steel at 400 yards with my AR. Not one lucky hit but consistent hits. We used wolf ammo and some 55 gr ballistic tips which neither are ideal for longer range. I kept on target at 500 but he had trouble there. Proud of him for some damn fine shooting though. He got pissed when I dialed up too high for 500. Little turd thinks you can put a crosshairs on anything and hit it.

We got to run the bobcat with a brush mower yesterday evening and he had so much fun in my buddy's excavator that he wanted to skip hunting. Had a fun trip and that's stuff they won't learn in school.

Thanks guys. Darrin I should have taken some target photos but it really boosted his confidence. Playing on the excavator and digging holes was his #1 pick though.
