What's all locked up? A frame bushings? The chevys I had were very solid on the front end (all 2500) other than changing hub bearings every 80 or 100k. Rolled 2 different ones to around 280k, both are still going as far as I know

So you're bitching about having to replace shocks at 100k? I didn't imply that the trucks I were referring to had magnaride by the way, couldn't bring myself to buy something that sounded that gay

I don’t know anything about your suspension but when I swapped my factory shocks on my Duramax for Bilsteins it was night and day. They’re great shocks if you don’t want to go back with the magnums.

The Magnaride is an Electronically controlled performance suspension. The shocks are a special fluid/oil with millions of tiny bb's with electronic pulses up to 2000 times per second.
I looked in to replacing with a high quality hydraulic or gas shock but from what I've learned, if you disconnect the electrical aspect of the suspension, it will set off codes and you end up with warning lights on your dash.
This is the same type of suspension used in the newer Corvettes as well as a lot of high end performance cars. GMC just thought it would be a great idea to put it on their high end trucks. And when it's working properly, it is the smoothest riding truck suspension i've ever felt.

My buddy has been shopping for a Tundra for the past 10 months. I've gone with him to most of the dealerships in NE Ohio and have done several test drives. He's narrowed it down to a Platinum with the TRD Pro suspension and exhaust.. I personally wouldn't trade my Sierra 1500 Denali for one but .. they are nice trucks.. just missing a few luxurys for the 55-60k price tag

Wonder if the TRD pro suspension has magic bb's and electronic dampening capabilities? Too much goofy shit on all the new vehicles now a days. Absolutely hate the def, egr, exhaust burn, bullshit on mine. Sensors for sensors

I thought people bought GM and Dodge for looks and luxuries, not longevity? They make the sharpest looking trucks, but I wouldn't buy one. I've worn more than one of each of the big three out. GM and Dodge spend the most time in the shop.

I looked at trading my F150 in on a Tundra instead of another F150 recently. I think the quality was the same before F150 started trying new tech. Toyota has stayed with more solid engines and transmissions.

Anyhow, after seeing the limited selection of Tundras and their current prices, I'll stick with what I got. I'm lucky in that my personal truck doesn't get used much.

Enjoy the new shocks. It's not like you paid for 150K shocks, so it's not like you lost anything when the cheaper ones wore out.
