Deeper and deeper we go down the rabbit hole

Got the old radiator core support removed with the help of a sawzall and grinder. I can really see the rust and corrosion damage that was under the battery box area. It needs a new inner fender but that'll have to wait until I do a re-paint in a year or two,, or three.
New core support was prepped and painted over the weekend, all new solid body mounts made out of DELRIN will be going back in. I ran new brake lines from side to side which was a lot of fun bending and molding to the contours of the frame. I think I spent 2 hours on just one line
Hated that I had to undo all the hidden headlight and grill stuff I just did all new 2 months ago but I knew it was coming.
Now for the wire wheelin, flapper disc'n, sanding and painting when I can get the shop up to temp again

Going to go ahead and pull the other side now as well and replace that inner fenderwell. That'll give me good access to clean and paint the subframe and redo the steering box...

Update..

I've reached the turning point from disassembly, to clean up and start the rebuilding. Had to order a new steering column so I went with the IDIDIT Tilt version

I wish I had the time, patience and money to get that involved with mine.

IDIDIT column came this morning, unfortunately i'm heading to Florida for Christmas so won't be able to play with it for a while. I need to decide if I want to just clearcoat it or paint it black.

Did some work on the firewall and subframe.. A lot of wire wheelin, cleaner and rags.. I was able to get a short handled 5lb sledge through the heater box hole and beat the firewall back out and smoothed out a little. Applied some body filler and did some sanding. Once I get the Vintage air evaporator/heater kit installed under the dash i'll install the firewall delete panel permanently and then a little more body filler, smooth, sand and paint. It's starting to come along nicely whenever the weather and temps allow me to get things done.
