Default Boys first deer!

Myself and the boys heading up Monday in hopes on knocking down a few for the freezer. Jason my step son who is a heck of a shot saw 11 on Tuesday morning missed twice after a group of 5 does stepped out and about an hour later another group of 6 walked out and never cut a hair. Peyton and myself hunted a stand I have in the pines with an approx 130 yd lane with trails crossing all up and down. Tuesday Am as well had a lone doe come down the trail right toward us and once she got close, she broke off and walked away never to be seen again. Wednesday morning we planned on hunting till 9:30 in hopes of getting on the road around 11. At 9:10 after my phone died and and a a coughing fit I reminded him we had only 20 minutes left when I look up and out walks a doe and yearling. He gets the gun up and I help him get it on his shoulder when he tells me he has it on her shoulder. I tell him to wait until the yearling moves from behind her. Welp, the yearling moves off and I tell him to shoot. At the shot I see hair fly and she appears to be hit good. He starts hugging me and bawling and I'm a babbling idiot so we share some tears, high fives and hugs and finally compose ourselves and climb down. Walk the 65 yds and i dont see blood or hair which I swear I saw fly. I happen to look into the woods where I saw her go and there is great blood heading into the thickest briars on the property. We load up to go get jason and come back to follow the blood. He tracked him till we found her about 70 yds laid up. Caught her a little foreward and exited behind her right shoulder. After 3 hard days of hunting sitting approx 5 hrs a day I couldnt be more proud of him. I did bring a charged I pad to help break up the monotony but even in 28 degree temps on Tuesday morning he toughed it out till 10 am. Without a doubt, this has been the most rewarding year I have ever had. Was able to be with my wife when she got her first and now my son. I honestly dont care if I shoot or see another deer this year because of the memories we have all experienced! 100# nanny
