We are in an open spot of hardwoods surrounded by some really thick overgrown vines, briars, etc. Hoping some folks will come off the game lands and push em by us. If the deer cross into our openin we're golden. If they stay in the thick we're hosed
Sounds like a good plan. Are you all hunting from the ground or a double ladder?

ok...here's the image of where we'll be. the red lines are the private property we will access from. The yellow line is the fire trail off the field on the public land. The blue spots are where folks park on the public land, and the blue line is our access point.

from the ground. We are on the edge of a long opening with our backs against a couple big trees. She will be setting on a log and I will be just behind the log On the ground

If you 2 don't shoot early I would stick it out. Seems like more deer gets spooked when they come out as going in.

yeah...during our short season, we get a lotta folks in the woods in a short time. If you can sit it out, somebody is bound to move some deer around. During gun season I have a completely different strategy. You don't look where the deer normally travel. You look for where they are gonna go if pushed

weather tomorrow aint lookin fantastic. 40% chance of rain and in the 60's which is warm for here. Plan is to leave the house bout 4:45 am and head down. Get in the woods round 6 or 6:15 and hunker down for as long as she can stand the rain. wind is looking favorable to our setup, not that a deer bein pushed by a few dozen hunters is gonna be too worried bout scent

How long does season stay in? Also, go to walmart and get a $40 pop up blind so y'all can sit in the rain without getting wet!
